Six of Wands: On Recognition, Confidence and Showing Off

Maria Sprow November 29, 2023

SIX OF WANDS

You’ve come across quite the show: five Sea Lions are cheering on a sixth as the powerful creature leaps out of the water and clears an iceberg on a beautiful night lit by the northern lights. Six wands light their rocky beach. The Six of Wands represents the support you’ve received from others and the confidence you have built recently to finally feel like a success after accomplishing a significant milestone in your journey. You’ve cleared through all the hurdles you’ve faced so far and others are enjoying the results; you’re putting your skills on display and finally getting noticed for your work and progress. Keep believing in yourself and have faith that you’re still on the right path. Revel in the love received from others and use that appreciation to keep shining bright.

IF YOU’RE FEELING BLOCKED:

The external reaction to what you’ve put out so far isn’t always a reflection of you or your work, but of your confidence and your ability to positively communicate the things that make you uniquely you. For some, that comes naturally. But many people suffer from stage fright, imposter syndrome or a lack of marketing skills. Perhaps you’re creating something amazing but haven’t figured out how to share it or sell it or really grab people’s attention in the age of information and paid algorithms. Maybe you’re scared to ruffle feathers, are approaching a more daunting next step in your journey, prefer to keep your work to yourself due to some previous trauma or negative experience in speaking up or sharing your work, or are feeling invisible and overshadowed because of a current lack of response from others. None of that is a true reflection of you or your work; marketing and selling are skillsets that can be learned. Work on building your confidence, talk positively and openly about yourself and your work, and be open to advice from others about how to reach your true audience.

CREATIVITY EXERCISES:

Create a design for a sticker that both represents your body of work and thanks people for their support

Get inspired by sea lions, icebergs or the northern lights

Make a self-portrait that shows your confidence exceeding your fears

Share something silly of yourself and out of your comfort zone, such a silly dance, telling a funny joke or a cartoon that illustrates an unshared part your life
