Art Transforms A Nation

I’m an artist-turned-activist trying my best to shed some light into and onto the world. I believe art of all kinds has the power to transform both the artist and the observer. Art, unlike facts and stats, can help people see what they haven’t seen before. It can help explain what words alone fail to. It can change hearts, and it can change minds. It can brighten the spirit and save souls. And we need it now more than ever.

I wonder, what makes corporations

think they can actually own us?

How expensive is money these days?

First they wanted my time

and I gave them that because I had no choice,

and then they came for my body

and demanded my voice

and I made them both disappear.

Next they’re coming for my soul

but they can’t catch me

because all I’ve got left is energy.
