The Seven of Stars:
On Dreams, choices and Overwhelming possibilities
Shhhhh…. you’ve crossed paths with a dreaming caterpillar, the Seven of Stars. A young caterpillar is peacefully dreaming of the possibilities for what she might one day become. Stars hold the powers of dreams and desires, while Sevens focus on evolution and the pursuit of perfection or ideals. The Stars here don’t shine from above, but are ethereal, shining from within or from the dimension from which dreams come. Caterpillars are a powerful symbol of faith and transformation: they must build themselves a shelter so their physical bodies can safely turn into mush so that its parts can be rearranged and reshaped. Are they terrified to follow these instincts they have? Do they have the choice to remain a caterpillar? The Dreaming Caterpillar is the card of dreams and choices, or the illusion of such things. Among tiny dew drops, the dreams shown in the caterpillar’s stars are symbolic of both her future possibilities and the other lives she could be living in another timeline in a multiverse of endless possibilities. But the Caterpillar, while destined to become something else, can’t become someone else — she can’t become a different caterpillar. Not everything is possible in this one short life, but our souls do not live short lives, or narrow lives. Your dreams may connect you to other lives in other timelines; your soul lives in them all. The Seven of Stars is a reminder to pay attention to your dreams and your choices. Are they connected?
If you're feeling blocked:
It might be about a frustration with a choice you have, or a perceived lack of choice. Not every dream is a choice to be made, nor is every choice a dream come true. Some choices are inevitable, some are impossible, and some are spontaneous. Your head might be in the clouds in some ways — or it might be underwater. Either can be overwhelming. Maybe you believe there is nothing you can do, maybe you’re feeling helpless about the state of the world. Nowadays, many of our choices are tainted by the desires of others, through the power of advertisements and marketing and influencers and powerful mind control manipulation techniques used by corrupted leaders to amass followers. It can be very difficult to know if you’re making choices or just being shuttled along a path designed to lead you from where you were to where someone else wanted you to be. But there is always a choice to be made, and with every choice comes whole realities of possibility. Maybe it’s time to focus on all the smaller choices you have each and every day: what you buy and from where and why, what you do when you wake up, what you're leaving out at the end of the night. Remember it's small steps, quick projects, and tiny bits of joy that lead to a happy, accomplished life well lived. Get inspired by the micro and the macro, because they are often one and the same.
Creativity exercises:
Create an advertisement selling a dream for someone to buy. What is the dream? How much would you charge? Make sure to include a “call to action” somewhere.
Study a butterfly’s wings up close. Paint, color or create a butterfly wing of your own, but make it as large as you can and turn it into something else. Are the lines and shapes on the wing actually a map? Is the shape of the wing actually the outline to a river?
Make a split vision board representing the journeys down two separate paths: What are the different obstacles you’ll encounter? The different feelings you’ll have? How does each path end?
Choose just two colors; take a 20-minute walk and capture all the different ways in which you experience those colors. Create something inspired entirely by those two colors; do not allow yourself to incorporate any other colors.
