21- The Constellations

On Interconnectedness, Wonder and Possibility

The Constellations card invites you to gaze upward and outward, reconnecting with the infinite wonder of the universe. The stars form patterns in the night sky, each one a story, a guide, a reminder of the interconnectedness of all things. This card is a beacon of healing, hope, and direction. It reminds you of the vast possibilities that lie within and beyond yourself and of the light you carry that connects you to the cosmos.

When you look at the stars, where do your thoughts wander? Do they drift toward your smallness in the grand scheme of things or the miracle of existence itself? The Constellations card asks you to embrace the duality of being tiny yet wondrous—a single cell in a vibrant, infinite universe.

The Constellations card is a reminder that even in darkness, light is present—guiding, connecting, and inspiring. It encourages you to embrace the wonder of existence, navigate by your inner stars, and create your own patterns of meaning in a universe of endless possibility.

If you’re feeling blocked:

When life feels heavy or directionless, look up. The stars remind you of the vastness of existence and the infinite possibilities that lie ahead. Are you focusing too narrowly on a single challenge or outcome? Broaden your perspective, and allow yourself to imagine paths and connections you haven’t yet considered.

Create your own constellation. Find the dots—the experiences, relationships, and skills—that make up your life and connect them in new ways. The patterns may reveal themselves as you reflect.

Reflection questions:

  • What guides you when you feel lost?

  • What possibilities are you overlooking or dismissing?

  • How can you honor your place in the vastness of the universe?

Creativity exercises:

Create Your Own Constellation: Take a piece of paper and mark dots to represent significant moments, people, or qualities in your life. Connect these dots into a unique constellation, and name it. What shape did you create when you placed and connected the dots? Write a short story or poem about its meaning and how it guides you.

Night Sky Re-creation: Look at photographs taken by the James Webb telescope as it travels through the vastness of space and create a night sky landscape scene.

Constellation Mythology: Choose one of the recognized 88 constellations in the night sky to research the mythology and be inspired by.

Five Stars: Think of five people who have inspired you in your life. Create a dedication honoring one of them, or all of them.
