The Goddess of Stars:
On compassion, caring for others, and Self-Love
An out-of-this-world creature forged from the strength and vulnerability of flower petals stands in a field of purple coneflowers, an herb renowned for its medicinal powers. A shining star of light particles gather between her hands, called together in celebration by the creature’s energy. Behind her, her planet’s moon appears to be melting, a waterfall of light cascading down onto hoodoos, large towers of potential energy collecting the wisdom of millennia. But what does it all mean? Stars hold the power of connection, love and spirit, while Goddesses are creators and the heart of each power, the how, so the Goddess of Stars is a reminder that love creates love and that love and creativity are the forces that get us all through difficult times. The Goddess of Stars is a reminder that the creative spirit is absolutely everywhere. It is in you, it is in the weeds, it is in the stars, it is in grains of sand, it is in the constellations, it is in not just the flower, but each and every flower petal. Everything in nature is a manifestation of spirit and energy. Flower petals are soft and healing, beautiful and fleeting, so the Goddess of Stars represents the soft and healing love that drives our connection to the universe. The melting moon suggests an epic disaster is unfolding around you, but the Goddess finds a way to shine light onto the coneflowers anyway, allowing them to bloom in the darkness.
If you’re feeling blocked
The Goddess of Stars is a card about compassion and care — both for others and for yourself. The Goddess of Stars is always caring for those around them, whether they are sick or upset. They are an expert in reading and understanding people’s feelings, but sometimes it becomes overwhelming taking so much on. As much as you care for the people around you and the connections you’ve forged in your life, they should be caring for you in the ways that they can, too, lifting you up in your creative endeavors and showing their appreciation for the energy you’ve given to them. Perhaps you’re experiencing an increase or uncomfortable shift in your caregiving responsibilities that is keeping you from finding a creative flow. Maybe there is a serious illness in your family — The Goddess knows having a creative outlet and a direct connection to your soul is all the more important when times are at their darkest. Even just 10 or 15 minutes a day is important, so find something you can do in small increments of time, like embroidery, sewing, drawing. Think of ways to add efficiency into your relationships and responsibilities: simple things that the people around you can do for you to show you they care, too and ways to include others in your self-care. Make sure that the time spent together isn’t being wasted by the amount of stress you’ve taken on.
